Sadly, Donald died in August 2000, after fifty happy years together.

| I graduated MBChB from Edinburgh University in 1949, and married a fellow graduate, Donald W. MacLean, the following year. My main interest in medicine was in the field of Community Child Health, while my husband became a senior lecturer in General Practice at the university of Edinburgh. Sadly, Donald died in August 2000, after fifty happy years together. |
